The European Poker Tour (EPT) was created in 2004 by John Duthie, a poker player who won at the Poker Million tournament. The commentators of this event are Duthie himself and Colin Murray, while the hosts include Natalie Pinkham and Caroline Flack. There have been 4 seasons of EPT so far, so why don't we take a look at some of the poker players that have become EPT winners.
Poker player John Shipley placed 1st in one of the EPT events held in London, England. He won £200,000, which was equivalent to $359,479. His other achievements include being one of the winners at the 2000 and 2002 World Series of Poker.
Ram Vaswani is an English poker player who joined at an EPT event in Dublin, Ireland. He won €80,000 in the said event and defeated other professional poker players, including runner-up Rory Liffey and finalist Jamie Drummond.
Professional poker player Jan Boubli emerged victorious at an EPT event in Barcelona, Spain, with €416,000-worth of winnings. He defeated players Christer Johansson, Patrik Antonious, Gus Hansen, and others. Based in Paris, France, he is called "Le Grand" in the poker world. In July 2003, he joined the second season of the World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris, wherein he placed second. Boubli was a dentist by profession before retiring and focusing on poker.
English poker player Mark Teltscher was the winner of the £3,000 no limit hold'em main event at an EPT in London, England. After his victory in EPT, he also triumphed at the $5,000 event of the Five Dollar World Poker Classic that was conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada.
At an EPT event in Copenhagen, Denmark, Danish poker and backgammon player Mads Andersen won DKK 2,548,070. Born in 1971, he was also a winner at the World Backgammon Championships way back in 2002.
Another EPT event in London, England resulted to the victory of British poker player Victoria Coren, taking home £500,000 and defeating poker players Emad Tahtouh, Michael Muldoon, Chad Brown, Peter Hedlund, Sid Harris, Jules Kuusik, and Jan-Olav Sjavik. Aside from being a professional poker player, Coren is also a well-known presenter and author. The books she has written include "Love 16."
In one of the EPT events held in Dublin, Ireland, poker player Roland de Wolfe placed 1st and won €554,300. Among the poker players he defeated were David Tavernier and William Thorson.
An EPT event held in Barcelona, Spain resulted to the triumph of professional poker player Sander Lylloff, taking home €1,170,700. Poker players who were defeated by Lylloff include Mark Teltscher, Gregory Dyer, Trond Eidsvig, and Mika Paasonen.
